Abertay University’s Institute of Arts, Media and Computer Games is the UK centre for excellence in computer games education. Use of our new prototyping studio is available to successful grant applicants, where they will receive the use of industry-standard development software and equipment in an open plan studio environment, which can be configured to meet specific project needs.
Grant applicants can also apply to work from elsewhere in the UK, hosting their prototyping team at facilities provided by partner institutions (universities, incubators, etc), or on their own premises.
All successful applicants are eligible for the free Microsoft® BizSpark™ package. Microsoft® BizSpark™ offers fast, easy access to current, full-featured Microsoft development tools and production licenses of server products; professional technical and expert business support; plus global visibility to new markets.
Institutions interested in forming a partnership with Abertay University’s Prototype Fund who wish to provide development space in their area are welcome to contact us. This can provide many benefits, such as fostering closer ties with your local industry, and facilitating the placement of students from the Talent Pool in your area.
Academic practitioners are also invited to promote the paid work experience provided through our Talent Pool – which is open to students or graduates from any UK university.
